The Justice League of 19th Century Authors? I’m pretty sure this one did not do as well at the box-office has many hoped it would…but, for some reason, I really dig this movie. I’ve probably watched it about five or six times now…

I actually hate this movie with a passion that burns brighter than 1,000 suns. I think it’s a pretty lousy movie in a vacuum, but compared to its source, it’s even worse. I don’t like being one of those “The book is so much better guys” but if you really liked the movie Steve, you should check out the Graphic Novel(s) by Alan Moore. Technically comic books, but they read like literature, and the artwork is fantastic. No Tom Sawyer and no Dorian Grey, but he handles all the characters so much better than the writers of this film do. And the character of Alan Quartermain isn’t held victim by Sean Connery obviously not caring about anything but a paycheck.
LXG was OK but pales in comparison to Moore and O’Neill’s original comic books. The original comics are so much better and are much more intelligent! Steve , if you can read the collections of the League in comic book form(so-called graphic novels) do it, you might be impressed…..
Thanks guys. I was not aware of the book – but, may now check it out.
