• The J&J Boys, Jackson & Jesus, Yanks Best Hope?

In case you missed it, Jonathan Mayo has posted his “Top 50 Prospects” at MiLB.com. Austin Jackson came in at #27 and Jesus Montero came in at #40 for the Yankees. This ties into what Baseball America shared last month: Jackson and Montero are the two-best prospects in the Yankees system at this moment.

Let’s hope they work out better than Nick Johnson and Drew Henson did seven years ago.

I have higher hopes for Montero…I dunno, I don’t see what everyone elses sees about Jackson yet

What was wrong with Nick Johnson? If he hadn’t have had that freak injury he would definately be a very solid 1b. Of course, the Yankees traded him away…

Henson was a disappointment in baseball and in football. That’s just how it goes sometimes. I was not disappointed in Nick Johnson at all. He was a good enough player that the Yanks got a #1/#2 caliber starter for him.

As well they should’ve. He was made redundant by Jason Giambi and any good team trades their redundancies for things they need (in this case, a young power pitcher).
