Isn’t Jermaine Dye a good bit better than Randy Winn? You’re even selling Hughes short on the trade market?! That’s insanity.

which is why if the Padres ask for Hughes in order to get Peavy, you dont think twice.

Also, based on what Pete Abe has written on his blog, it sounds like Bailey has a attitude problem. Maybe the Reds are eager sellers…

Homer Bailey: 0-6 7.93 18 17
Phil Hughes:: 0-4 6.62 23 15
They both had horrid years, but Bailey was quite a bit worse then Phil.
But the Reds haven’t given up on Homer yet. And we should not be giving up on Phil.

And that rumor was quickly shot down by the Reds

And you just convinently overlook the obvious fact that some of the other names that poped into those disscussions include a guy that’s already won a Cy Young and two other guys that’s had good seasons under their belts
