Is he under contract for 2009? IIRC, the Yankees signed him to a minor league deal for 2008. That doesn’t cover 2009.

Some of those guys were barely considered prospects, others were trade bait…

Given the nature of the game, I would say quite a few “prospects” will flame out due to injury and ineffectiveness.

But really, D’Angelo Jimenez had some pretty solid years as a utility guy. He would be worth bringing back to stow away in AAA and to use if the current utility guy gets injured…..wait do the Yanks even have a utility guy at this point?
