According to Dan Graziano: [Brian] Cashman did leave the hotel to meet with [A.J.] Burnett [this evening, rather than meet with the media].
Sing it Brian.

ummmmm…. If you go back and look at that link now, Steve, you’ll notice that it also says Cashman is having a meeting with CC or his people. Third one in 3 days. Any chance for praise/hope? Or are you going to spin this development in a negative light also?

per Peter Abraham
Yankees making a move on Sabathia?
Interesting things going on:
Giants GM Brian Sabean said that CC Sabathia is a back-burner issue for his team. The Angels said roughly the same thing.
And it seems that tonight’s last-minute meeting that Brian Cashman dashed off to involves one CC Sabathia.
More to come as it becomes available.

Actually Cashman flew out to SF to meet with CC and his wife, Amber. Guess you missed that part.

Steve, you have to admit, even if things don’t work out with the free agent pitchers., it won’t be for a lack of effort on Cashman’s part. In the last 72 hours, he’s had three meetings with C.C., one with Sheets, and one with Burnett. Its not Andy Pettitte circa 2004 again.

That is, he’s been pursuing plans A, B, and C simultaneously.
