Didn’t Bernie talk to Boston so he could get Steinbrenner’s attention? I’m sure the Hendricks brothers are doing their due diligence, talking to Boston just to be comprehensive in their representation of their client.

And if Boston wants Andy Pettitte, that’s fine. It’s up to Andy where he pitches in 2009.

Sheet for 2 years and $26 million is worth the risk as long as you have Pettitte back and Hughes, etc in the wings to spot start.

But what team is gonna pay Andy over 10 mill? That is the question. Will cheap sabremetric Theo offer him even 7 mill? Probably not…. The Cards won’t offer anything close to 10. And the Dodgers? Maybe Colletti and McCourt would be stupid enough to give Pettitte 16 mill a year, even though McCourt and Co are held back financially.

Sheets for that much money? Can anyone say Pavano/Igawa part Deux? The inmates are running the asylum in the Bronx.
