Feel free to use this post as a place for you to comment on anything Yankees-related (or within reach of tagging the bag of being Yankees-related on a decent slide) today. It could be a casual conversation offering, or, something you saw in the news, or something very detailed that you want to share that’s within the territory of Yankeeland.
Or, comment on something that someone else has posted here in the comments…
Have fun. Play nice. And, remember, keep it Yankees-focused.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post says Cardinals outfielder Rick Ankiel is popular, with at least five interested teams. He adds the Yankees, Rays, and Giants to the previously known Braves. With the lack of center fielders on the market, the interest makes sense. Sherman says the Cardinals seek a closer and/or a starter, and have some interest in Ian Kennedy.
Ankiel makes some sense, but you wonder about paying too much, especially considering you have him for just one year of service before Boras potentially takes him to the open market.
eh i dont want any former dopers to be added to the team

You don’t want Pettitte either, then.
I don’t want Ankiel because he seems to break down a lot. The Yanks don’t need more injury-prone players when their MLB and MiLB depth are certainly questionable.
Is anyone following all the rumors coming out of the winter meetings? Some crazy stuff going on out there. Has me excited for baseball again after things were kind of dead the last few weeks.

i consider pettite always and forever a yankee
not to mention, what happens if he forgets how to throw the ball back in to the outfield and starts throwin it in the stands
Idk if any of you guys caught this article on TPMA, but it goes through exactly the kind of year Bret Gardner would have to have in 2009 to justify the loss of Bobby Abreu and, surprisingly, he doesn’t really have to do much at all to make up for Bobby’s contribution to the team. Any thoughts?
