Which it distinguishes from Matsuzaka, who has “full no-trade clause: may not be traded without consent, provided player gets his first day of Major League service during a guaranteed contract of at least 6 years after player has been with a professional baseball league team other than a major or minor league team”, which I read to mean Dice-K has a full no-trade, because his current contract is exactly 6 years, his first day of ML service was his 1st day under this contract, and he came from a professional baseball team which not not a major or minor league team, namely, the Japanese professional league.

And it also distinguishes that clause from JD Drew’s contract, which has a “limited no-trade clause allowing Drew to block deals to 2 clubs” (Cards and Phillies, maybe???)

Yank Crank, I hate AJerk Burnit(I didn’t call him AJerk Burnett that is too dignified for a headcase like him). Crank, my statements are very well thought and intelligent contrary to your statement. Yes, I have derisive nicknames like the Red Pox, Tankees, Orange County Angels of Pasadens, but it’s all in good fun. I’m an equal opportunity offender BTW.I have listened to tons of Toronto games the last few years and this guy is a waste. He got involved in a mess with the cops that makes Arod’s activities look sedate. He was terrible with the Toronto press that is so benign. I’ve said this a million times, he had a big comfort zone in Toronto with Halladay, Arnsberg(his old pitching coach) and an easy press corps. Crank , another thing Cash Man seems to be running the team into the ground since he gained full control 3 years ago. It resulted in the Yankees finishing in third place last year. I feel that this is yet another signing that will result in more dissapointment because the Yankee front office didn’t do their due diligence. If the Yanks were more successful then we can cheer loudly for them. BUT when their primary shortcoming was offense BY FAR then the adjustments should be made accordlingly. Butchie, i’m happy for you that you watch and listen to Red Sox games and i’m sorry that you have such a biased opinion on AJ Burnett being a Yankee. However, whenever I read your posts they are littered with childish-name calling followed with incorrect facts that you claim to be true by posting “PERIOD” after them. I am never 100% correct, and I don’t love every Yankee, but I also don’t come up with retarded names for people I don’t like and slam our G.M. for his moves that haven’t even been judged yet. Raf, the Lowell trade is contigent on many different things. Feliz is still with the Phillies and does Ruben Amaro want to potentially add more money in March when his spending will be set by the time spring training starts.

Feliz is still with the Phils, but that will not stop them from acquiring Lowell if he becomes available. If Lowell’s healthy, he is clearly an upgrade over Feliz. He’s probably an upgrade as he is now . Also, Feliz is signed through next year, Lowell is signed through ’10.

Lowell and the Phils were talking contract when he signed with the Sox, so it’s not like he’s unfamiliar with the idea of playing there.

Assuming the Sox sign Tex, if Lowell stays, he’s a backup. If that what he wants to do, that’s fine. If he wants to waive his no-trade and be traded, that’s also fine. But if he wants to be traded, Philly is the logical choice for him to land.
