According to the save rules, yes.

That was the game that Tony Clark hit the ground rule double (9th inning), causing Sierra to be held up @ 3b.

They had a chance to take the lead the 13th as well, but couldn’t pull it off.

I know people act like Rivera blew 2 games in the 04 ALCS, but if I remember correctly, he actually blew game 4 and then in game 5 came in with the tying run on 3rd and no outs that was inherited from Flash. Is that really a blown save when the runner wasn’t his?

Or am I not remembering it correctly?

Steve, let’s not forget that 2004 team was a few Mariano Rivera strikes away from getting to (and then easily winning) the World Series. Not exactly a terrible showing.

Well, it would be the 1st divisional title since 2006, and it would be the 1st playoff series win since 2004…
