Feel free to use this post as a place for you to comment on anything Yankees-related (or within reach of tagging the bag of being Yankees-related on a decent slide) today. It could be a casual conversation offering, or, something you saw in the news, or something very detailed that you want to share that’s within the territory of Yankeeland.
Or, comment on something that someone else has posted here in the comments…
Have fun. Play nice. And, remember, keep it Yankees-focused.

Chad Moeller signed with the O’s. I wish him well. He seemed like a nice guy.
Good for him. I hope he has a nice season down there and teaches Wieters a few things about life as a pro ballplayer. It should be a pretty exciting year for Wieters but it never hurts to have a veteran around to teach you the little things.
Morning Guys and Happy New Year to you all… Did anyone get to see SUPER AGENT Scott Boras on MSNBC this morning??? They were talking business about the Yankees and the Scott was asked did the yankees just come out of no where and steal Tex from Boston? He said nope,.. Boston backed out once they found out the Yankees were the in the bidding..

Probably didn’t want to get into a bidding war, I geuss. While they could have used Teix, they certainly didn’t need him.

Agree, although it’s odd to me that they’d back out so prematurely. If nothing else, they could’ve engaged in the bidding war to drive the price up a little further. As it is, the Yanks only signed Teixeira for a scant few million more than Boston’s last reported offer.

Quite frankly, the Yankee revenue streams this season will be enormous so I didn’t see a game of chicken over Teix. Especially since they wanted him so much, they ( Boston) didn’t want to get stuck with him at a price they didn’t like. Henry comes from the financial world and the opportunity cost is tremendous with Teix. Mainly because A they have a great team right now B that is 22-25 that goes into the profit of the club now C that money could be used to resign Beckett or another player.
Chad Moeller? One of the real nice/good guys in the game. He did a decent job last year. It was kinda funny that when they DFA’ed him, they needed him right quick.
Sicilian Lou, Happy New Year to you and the rest of the board.

Actually the Nats had the highest bid on the table.. Boras didn’t disclose during his interview if he actually showed the Yankees bid.. I guess it came down to wanting to win…
Thought you might enjoy something about two old-timers who both also played for the Yanks – albeit at different times:

I don’t believe anything Boras says. He’s 100% spin. While the Sox didn’t need Tex, the difference between Tex on the Yanks and not on the Sox, vs Tex on the Sox and not on the Yanks, is pretty big.
