TurnTwo, I agree. I like coming to WW and understand that Steve doesn’t like Brian Cashman. Some fans do, some don’t, that’s totally cool and everybody is entitled to their opinions. But posts like this seem to make it look like he goes out of his way to criticize Cashman for every move he makes, whether it is justified or not.

Case in point, yesterdays post on Cashman not deserving any credit for passing on Abreu with arbitration when players who are more desirable are already taking 40%-50% pay cuts. Now is an ok time to look at it and say, “well, maybe Cashman was right when he made that decision and we shouldn’t have all been calling him an idiot,” but even that is too much praise for Cashman on WW. It’s ok to dislike him but some of the posts feel like it’s not so much a genuine opinion but more searching for any reason to bash the guy.

worth a shot… good if it works out, insignificant if it doesnt because the player wasnt really being depended upon for production to win games.

how is it a bad thing to have options in camp and down in Scranton who have MLB experience?

i think is prob what i disagree with most about WW. you can dislike Cashman and take a position; take a position that separates you from other yankees fan sites… i get that, and theres a place for that.

but then stick to realistic criticism and argue worthwhile points… this makes your dislike for Cashman seem petty, and makes people think less of the other good posts you may have.

just my two cents anyway.

Lay off. For your own sake. He is doing what he has to do. No one should bother to waste their time criticizing (or praising) a move like this. Especially for a Cashman critic who ‘tries’ to be unbiased, you may as well lay off a move like this and use your political capital on a more worthwhile criticism.

These filler moves are always annoying. Jason Johnson is clearly no longer a MLB-caliber pitcher… do we really need more starting pitching at SWB?
