And, amazing as this sounds, ownership can impose conditions on employees while are on the job that the government is not permitted (well, until now) to impose on citizens, including restricting free speech while on the job.
==========================
Yeah, well, we can disagree about whether that should be the case.

On the other hand, I hate all the soap opera crap Torre's books has created. So my feelings are mixed.

Ultimately, though, I side with Steve. The Yankees shouldn't do this.

Yes, "they" can leak whatever they want.

That's because ownwership OWNS the team. And, amazing as this sounds, ownership can impose conditions on employees while are on the job that the government is not permitted (well, until now) to impose on citizens, including restricting free speech while on the job.

Furthermore, if someone doesn't want to agree to those conditions, then they're free not to accept the job as Yankees manager, or coach.

Now, this may not seem "nice" or "fair", but it is both legal and constitutional.

Ownership owns, and it can make self-restraint of a person's free speech rights a condition for obtaining a job. The free market provides other places of employment (for now) for those who don't want abide by that requirement.
