Jeter On Torre’s Book

I just saw Harold Reynolds, on MLB Network’s Hot Stove, interview Derek Jeter (about 10 miniues ago). When asked about Joe Torre’s book, Jeter said that he has to wait and see it, that “Mr. T” should be given a chance to talk, first, before anyone reacts to it, and, that we should let Alex Rodriguez have a chance to respond to what’s been written/said before others have their say.
That’s so Jeter, ain’t it?
In the same segment, they asked Buck Showalter for an opinion. Buck said his mother always told him “Be careful telling truths that might hurt innocent people.”
Interesting.
“That’s so Jeter, ain’t it?”
I’m beginning to think that’s not a good thing.
Somebody ought to remind Jeter that “Mr. T.” isn’t in charge of his team anymore. Because the deference he continues to show him is nauseating.
There is no explanation Joe can give to justify snitching on his players. None. I don’t need to read the whole book, or put it in context, or hear Joe backpedal on what he wrote. It’s that simple.
Besides, Verducci and Torre both said that they stand by everything in the book. So why do we have to wait for Mr. T to have his say first? He already had his say, for 500 pages!
Jeter is so politically correct unless it comes to arod. He is always so pleasant and non-controversial and so boring. This is a captain? Mr T slagged one of your teammates, stand up for him, will you, mate. St Derek doesn’t want to turn on ST Joe because ST Derek has a rep to maintain… that of a spineless politically correct jellyfish. Everyone knows that Posada is the real captain and heart and soul of the team anyways……..
