Jason Varitek and the Red Sox have agreed to a one-year contract with an option, a baseball source confirmed to the Globe’s Tony Massarotti.

I’m not sure if this is good news, or bad news, for Yankees fans.

It’s good news. He stinks so any time our biggest rivals add a near-automatic out into their lineup, that’s fine with me.

It’s great news. The more easy outs in their lineup, the better.

I agree, its good news. Varitek can’t hit anymore.

Ditto. Varitek is awful. I don’t ever buy into the “game management skills” amongst catchers.
