LOL, I didn't even realize that. I don't think it was a Freudian slip... despite that I disagree with Steve a lot, I definitely appreciate what he does with this blog, and he's certainly not a dick. For some reason, "Steve" is the name that my friends and I attribute to a lot of made-up characters.

jmeisner, I hope it wasn't a Freudian slip that you happened to use "Steve" as a "guy from work" when "Steve" also happens to run this blog.

Can this A-Rod nonsense please stop. Please? I knew that this was going to be the downside of signing him for 10 years, I just knew it. It seems like there are going to be people talking about "A-Rod's impact on club chemistry" forever, no matter what. People, it doesn't matter. There is absolutely no reason to care about this. No Yankees hitter ever goes to the plate thinking, "Damn, I hate A-Rod, so I'm going to strike out." No Yankees fielder ever has a ball coming at them while thinking, "Damn, I hate A-Rod, so I'm going to botch this routine play." No Yankee pitcher makes a pitch thinking, "Damn, I hate A-Rod, so I'm going to really groove this one." The fact that the players don't like A-Rod is immaterial. It's about as significant as you being slightly bothered by that guy Steve who works in your department at your crappy office job. Yeah, Steve is kind of a dick, but that's not going to prevent you from getting that report done for your a-hole, credit-taking boss, is it? I mean, is it a rule that players on a baseball team all have to be best friends? Hell, it's impossible. Think about it -- if you were thrown in a room with 24 random other people, what are the odds that you'd get along with all of them? These personal differences are supposed to stay in the clubhouse, especially in New York, because if word about it gets out, it turns into this ridiculously over-the-top grand opera. I mean, my god, I haven't seen this much drama since I accidentally watched a minute of Gossip Girl.
