MJ, your points on A-Rod are right on. I don't think, at this point, anybody can make a reasonable case that Alex is a wonderful human being with a pristine reputation. But who cares, as Yankee fans we can't hope for anything more than he does with his offseason workouts, his dedication to the game and what he produces on the field. For a franchise that has dealt with players like Mantle and Reggie, you think this wouldn't be such a big deal.

*FTR, totally not ripping the Mick or Reg. But they had external problems that fell outide the lines of the game and they were still loved and respected (even though Mick got some unneeded shit from the fans at times).

He definitely just went there.
-----------
Yep, it looks like he sure did.

And this is the biggest problem I have with Joe Torre and his damn book. Now every single former player will be asked about the book and about A-Rod and it becomes a free-for-all on the guy.

Look, he's not a perfect human being. And it probably says something about him that most of his teammates appear not to like him. But I still hate to see a guy that works as hard as he does and produces as much as he does get such a hard time from everyone. It's not good for the ballclub and it's not good for him. It's sad, frankly.

Joe Torre is a dishonorable piece of garbage in my book. It may be Quantrill's quote but the only reason anyone even wants to talk to him is because of Torre's stupid vanity project.
