A-Rod will eventually get in, especially if the Yanks can win a title or two.

If the writers refuse, whatever veterans' committee that exists say, 30 years from now, will likely induct all of them: Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, and possibly even Palmeiro.

~~Buster Olney opines that A-Rod will, in all probability, be denied election to the Hall of Fame.~~

I think it's a little early to make that call. We need more info on his PED usage. Was this a one time thing? Or, is this something that he was going for 5 or 6 years? If it's the latter, *maybe* Buster has a case. But, if it's the former, then how can you keep him out when many say guys like Clemens and Bonds will still get in?

Yes. been one of the best players in baseball since we got him. and you can not associate past test failure to mean he's always been dirty. until it is proven, i'm not judging. innocent until proven guilty. baseball fans, espn, si, the post, etc. all forget that.

Great quote from Joel Sherman on this today:

"Now Rodriguez has done what he always does: Assures that the stress that so often suffocates him also now destructively enwraps the Yankees. He is the bad gift that keeps on giving."

Quite a list Steve... but the most damaging story was the one on SI today. Prior to his opt out i was an ARod fanatic to say the least, had my blinders on, yankee coated glasses on and was wishing the guy wud be in the middle of a great post season run. But his opt out bugged me.. i think that was the time for the Yanks to stand up and not renew the association.. but they did and this ongoing negative circus is ridiculous... the guy will have his numbers, but i did think he was clean until today... i want either a firm NO or a confession from him... and ofcourse i find it curious that only his name comes out in the story... the other 103 players are left alone.. SI really has a thing for him i guess... cant believe the Verducci story from 06 too..

So, this all said…whaddaya say Yankees fans…when you look back at the first 1,820 days of A-Rod in pinstripes, factoring it all in, has it been worth it?
------
of course 8)

Fact is that he has been the best offensive & defensive player on the team, and has been for a few years. Why people look for reasons to hate him (outside of recent developments) is beyond me.
