hahaha anybody see that report of the guy who impersonated andy phillips and carl pavano to sleep with a porn star?? It’s on River Ave Blues for the link, truly hilarious!
It’s amazing how well Carl Pavano (or his imitators) do with the ladies. He’s a lousy pitcher but he must be good at other things, apparently.
Hey guys, I live down in Tallahassee, FL and just got tix to the first two Rays Home games vs. The Yanks. They’re gonna be hoisting the AL Pennant Banner the first night. I’m seriously hoping we provide a beatdown and spoil their evening. I looked at the Schedule and if things go as planned I’ll be seeing our 2nd and 3rd starters. I’ve always wanted to see the Wanger in person, so I’m stoked!

Exactly, but it makes total sense. They guy was a fraud and conned the Yankees out of $40 million…why wouldn’t he be able to con a couple chicks to drop their panties? I really, really hope he somehow gets the first start at Yankee stadium.
Girardi just announced the rotation:
1) CC
2) Wanger
3) AJ
4) Pettitte
5) Jobamania (around 30 starts)
I like it. I like it a lot. It’s going to be a lot of fun watching these guys pitch this year.

I like it a lot too. It’s exactly how I’d have set it up, with the power lefty, followed by the sinkerball righty, the power curve righty, the cutter lefty, and another power righty. It may be overstating things but in any three-game series, you’re giving opposing hitters a couple of different looks by putting Wang/Pettitte between the three power guys.
i expect a huge season from Wang, my prediction being he is our top starter (stats-wise) @ the end of the year

I’m right there with you. I hope we beat them senseless and spoil their fun. It bugs me a tad that we’re the opening day attraction for three different teams (Orioles, Royals, Rays). I don’t so much care about the O’s and Royals opening day ceremonies as I do about the Rays. I really hope we go smack Kazmir or Shields around and silence that annoyingly loud guy that sits right next to the YES Network microphone.

How about silencing all those a-holes with the cowbells?
Or that wrestler who used to be one of the Nasty Boys who always sits behind home plate and cheers in an obnoxious fashion?
lol thank God theres no wrestling night after the game
Dont get me started on the cowbells! I heard they’re gonna be handing them out opening night, grrrr. This is one instance where I do not gotta have more cowbell!

HAHAHAHA! Line of the week!
BTW, is the new format of the Watercooler entry better, worse, or no different?
Lookin great to me.

I like it!
I also enjoy the new format.
Bret Gardner just led the game off with a home run…is Melky squirming yet???
BG takes the 2nd pitch of ST downtown. Gotta love it.
Then again, Melky had some April HRs last year too.
Veras got in a little trouble..1-1 now
Arod just went deep! Got a standing ovation!
lol melky hit what, pretty much all of his homers in april last year? What was it 5/8 in April?
Arod just went deep! Got a standing ovation!

I suspect that he’ll be loved at home and booed on the road…

Never underestimate the spoiled, ignorant Yankee fans who think A-Rod is the cause of every single Yankee flaw. They’ll have seats in the new stadium and boo every time he doesn’t hit a home run or dive into the stands for a play like Jeter.
The game today is in the Jays stadium..still got alot of cheers after the dinger

I couldn’t agree more.
It’s why I’ll be repeating the mantra “it feels like 2006 all over again” many, many times this season. It makes me very sad to think of how many Yankee fans take A-Rod for granted.

Me too MJ, me too. It’s kinda sad.
Instead of messing around with Angel Berrora, why not check to see if Nomah is interested in a UI supersub bench role?
Not a bad idea Raf

Eh, couldn’t you say the same thing about Pedro, though? Both oft-injured, over-the-hill, former good (Nomah) and great (Pedro) players. I dunno…. I say let Nomah slide by.

Nope, not even close. Nomar still can be a productive player, and he can play all 4 IF positions, and maybe OF in a pinch (though I don’t think you want to do that with his legs). He’s more than adequate to fill the Wilson Betemit/Randy Velarde role, and at the advanced stage of his career, I don’t think he’ll mind coming off the bench.
