wasn’t cone’s 7 inning performance a no-no after he came back? im not sure i remember it that way for some reason tho
-----------------
Yes it was. Mo came in after Cone left. All he gave up was an infield hit, IIRC

<blockquote>I’d be perfectly happy with some random games from the 60’s - 80’s. I could sit through Niekro’s 300th win. Or the game where Righetti set the saves record. Maybe some Kevin Maas games. Or Danny Tartabull’s big night in Baltimore. The first game @ the renovated Yankee Stadium, or the last game @ the “old” Stadium. Maybe something from the forgotten Shea era…</blockquote>
I barely remember Niekro's 300th but I definitely remember Rags getting #46. I even had the baseball card of that record breaker in my bedroom on top of my dresser. Rags was the man!

I agree, I'd love to see some games from the end of YS v1.0 or the first games at YS v2.0.

*DISC 3: Jim Abbott’s No-hitter*

Had been going to every saturday game up to that point, but my boss started griping because I would come in late on saturdays & sundays when the Yanks were in town (I had coverage, so to me it wasn't a big deal), so I took a break from the Yankees (I think it was a saturday) and showed up to work @ my normal time...

*DISC 4: Dwight Gooden’s No-hitter*

I attended this game, courtesy of tickets gotten through the Yankees Fan Festival. Festival attendants were able to redeem their stubs for a preselected game during the season. Since Seattle & NY had a "rivalry" at the time (that never really caught on, IMO), I chose that game.

*DISC 5: David Wells’ Perfect Game*

I was home from college, arrived the night before and was planning to go to the game (I enjoyed watching boomer pitch) until I saw that it was "beanie baby day" and that was at the height of the beanie baby craze. Since I wanted no part of that, I figured it would be best to stay home.

*DISC 6: David Cone’s Perfect Game*

A friend called me up saying that she had an extra ticket, I liked watching the Expos, and I enjoyed watching Cone pitch, so I went. Didn't realize what was going on until the people I was with started talking in code. Not so much code, but like Edith and her cling peaches (or her mmm-mmmm). By that point, I had already seen a no-hitter, but never a perfect game.

MJ, that's a really cool story. That must have been a great game to be at and btw, you list of games to watch is a pretty solid one. They'd be great additions and if I had to vote for one, i'd take the Bernie walk off in either the 96 ALCS against Baltimore or 99 ALCS against Boston.
