I saw Arod at a restaurant last night in Vail. Went up to kindly say hello and wish him best on his recovery. I was brief and respectful. Extended my hand and he was very reluctant to shake but eventually did. I would describe his attitude as tolerant but clearly would prefer not be bothered with stuff like this.

But, dude, what was he wearing? Would you say he was looking svelte? Did he have frosted tips? Did you offer to take some pictures while he lounged half-naked on a mattress?

  3. Corey Says:

how many entre’s did he get? was he stat-padding his bill? Was he not full cause he didn’t eat in a clutch situation?

    Cool. Thanks for sharing.

BTW, is anyone digging that I was able to add comment counts on each entry, the quote/reply feature in comments, as well as a Top Commentators “leader board” on the left sidebar, last night?

Yes, it’s a very good set of additions to the site. Thanks Steve!

Very nice… Didn’t realize I was so prolific with my comments :D

The “quote/reply” feature doesn’t work for me, it may be a browser issue as I use FF.

    Thanks!

Very nice indeed. I obviously have some work to do simply to get on the leaderboard, much less to catch up with Raf.

Where do you rank on the leaderboard, Steve? I know it’s not quite the same, but I would still be interested in how many “comments” you have.

  9. MJ Says:

Wow, I just saw the commentator leaderboard. Nice! I’m firmly in second place, having passed my old friend Bailey a while ago. No hope of catching Raf, however.

I’m excluded from the leaderboard. I don’t even want to know my count! ;-)

Put it this way, this blog is about 1,429 days old. So, if I made 5 comments a day, that would put me over 7,000. And, that’s scary. So, I don’t wanna know….

  11. Corey Says:

hmm kind of surprised i’m on the leaderboard…I started commenting here about a year after i started reading, figured some recognizable names would have had a head start

  12. YankCrank Says:

Wow, i’m slacking big time. Not even on the board…

  13. Corey Says:

lol don’t worry YankCrank, you got the quantity/quality of the posts you just gotta be here as long as some of us on that board

  14. YankCrank Says:

Easy for you to say Corey, you’re in the top 10! If this was NASCAR i’d lose all my sponsors and my car by now…

If you’re not first, you’re last. Shake and Bake!

  16. MJ Says:

FYI – Now that I’m aware of a “Top Commentators” leaderboard, I’m going to pad my stats like A-Rod hitting a HR in the 1st inning of a scoreless game. We all know 1st inning homers don’t count, after all…

  17. Corey Says:

haha no joke, when u said nascar talladega nights is the first thing i thought of, specifically the bounty of taco bell

  18. Corey Says:

oh wait that talladega ref was MJ, kudos…read the quoted text thinking the whole comment was from yankCrank

  19. butchie22 Says:

Raf and MJ are tops,eh? My old nemesis/foil baileywalk is three? Damn and he hasn’t posted in how long? Once I was A Yankcrankee Now I’m a Red Pox fan is no longer around…..he bolted when Teix signed on? BTW Ken , nice story. The fact that Arod was semi-decent to you shows that he isn’t a total bum……….
