O.K., I need some Yankees fans luck here.

I have tickets for the April 3rd and 4th games against the Cubs at the new Stadium. And, I had my plans all set up to attend both games. Then, about 5 weeks ago, I was told that I needed to travel down to Texas, for work, on April 1st through the 3rd. Major bummer.

Still, I held on to the April 3rd ticket because I wanted to think long and hard on who to offer it to - it being such a special game and all.

And, now, today, I found out that there's a chance - albeit very, very, slim, that my trip to Texas may be postponed. If so, that would free me up to attend the game on April 3rd.

I'm sure glad that I didn't offer that ticket away, yet. Think positive for me fellow zealots. I could use all the collective good mojo that I can get on this one....

Idk if Steve and Corey are asking me about the Swish thing so i'll just answer anyway.

I can see why Girardi would make this decision. All things considered, both Swish and Nady are having interesting springs. Swish has shown an ability to get on base but hit and slug with little power (until recently) and Nady has hit with some power but with a very little ability to get on base. If he wants to hand the job to Nady because of his performance for the Yanks last year (which wasn't that great, he had a hot start and cooled off fast) than he can do it.

But over time we'll see the two players play and chances are they will gravitate back to their career norms. At that point, it'll be hard to justify sitting the guy who hits for more power, gets on base more often and plays better defense than the other guy.

Everyone can be traded for a piece so it shouldn’t matter if they’re starting or not. The Yanks should want to put their best 8 position players out there, not their 7 best and their best trade chip.

If Swisher is better than Nady then winning ballgames — not showcasing a player for a trade — is what they should be focused on.
----------
well wouldn't you rather trade nady than swisher? I get your thought though, that the yanks should put the best team on the field and not worry about showcasing players, but my response to that is pretty much what steve said :

"Does Swisher really offer that much more than Nady?So much more that anyone should really care that the Yankees go with Nady over him? I don’t see it." <-- i agree

What do you guys think about this story?

"The New York Yankees have been looking for a cheap third baseman to fill the void of Alex Rodriguez, who is out until at least May after undergoing hip surgery. Various reports are suggesting the Yanks interest in Baker.
The Rockies could acquire Colorado native Mark Melancon, a pitching prospect who went a combined 8-1 in the minors last year between high A ball and AAA."

I wouldnt want to give up Melancon for Baker..any thoughts?
