Just a side note..I voted for Tampa because while they do have great young players and smart people working for them, they did require that young talent by coming in Last for like 15 years. Boston and New York have been able to come up with some great younguns too.

Clint, I agree with you to a certain degree BUT Tampa got a leg up on everyone by being bad for so long and getting the high draft picks. That being said, they did do a good job of indentifying talent and deserve credit for doing the right thing with their prospects. Unlike the Bucs of Pittsburgh ,Pa! Silverman is a really bright GM and has done good job so far. They also have Zimm hanging around too!

This is very tough. Some teams like the Rays have identified top amateur taqlent by having top pick of the best pool of players, while others like the Indians and A’s have dealt good players for amateur talent and identified them in other systems. Which is a better way to do it? Tough call…

I definitely give credit to the Rays. If just being terrible and getting high draft picks brought success, the Royals and Pirates would be killing everybody, lol

Good point. My vote went to the Rays anyway. I know we all love the Yankees, but can anybody really justify voting for them in this situation above some of those other teams?

Rays, obviously. Just because they’ve had early picks means nothing. Look at the Pirates or KC.

I’m a bit surprised at the lack of love the A’s Braves and Brewers have gotten. I’d definitely would pick them before the Red Sox or Yanks.

Over the last six years, the Braves system hasn’t produced a lot on the MLB level. They seem to be getting back to where they used to be (Tommy Hanson and Jordan Schaefer will both be playing in Atlanta this year).

If the question took it further back than six years, the Braves would’ve been my vote. Instead, I’m taking the Rays because they’ve not only identified the right players over the past several years, they’ve also done a good job of graduating that talent up to the big leagues.

you guys have to at least consider the Marlins. only two teams on that list have won a WS in the last six years and they are the Sox and the Marlins. between those two, i think one could argue that the Marlins have the edge.

and like the Rays, they seem capable of making the playoffs this year with one of the lowest payrolls in baseball.

FWIW, I voted for the Marlins. Between all the pitchers they’ve come up with – plus guys like Mike Stanton and Logan Morrison, well, they’re aces at getting young talent, if you ask me.
