April 2009 Survey Question #1 WasWatching.com Water Cooler Talk 4/3/09
Apr 03

Worried about the rain today? Don’t fret it. I’m sure the baseball gods are lobbying with the weather gods right now – explaining that it’s a big night in New York City where the two local pro-teams and their fans are looking to kick the tires on their new ballparks. And, in the end, the weather dudes will cut the baseball gang some slack and clear the skies by game-time. In the interim, via SNY’s Geico SportsNite yesterday, here’s some video to enjoy from what was going down at the new Yankee Stadium yesterday:

It’s kinda funny that the Yanks are hosting the Cubs while the Mets host the Red Sox. Makes sense to not tie up the Yanks and Red Sox in an exhibition game but I just find it funny that the Sox are in town but not to visit the Bronx.

If there’s one place I DON’T want to be this weekend, it’s in Queens. It’s bad enough Mets fans are closet Red Sox fans. Can you imagine how awful the atmosphere will be at Citi Field with a stadium full of Mets AND BoSox supporters?

    Wow. Good point.

I went to a Mets game last year and the funniest thing was seeing so many Bosox hats in Shea. I’m no Mets fan and I was annoyed! The Mets were playing the Pads and it was amusing to see Yankee jerseys and hats as well. The Mets fan loves the Red Sox when they beat the Yankees, but I remember 1986. My Met friends were making up new curses for Clemens and Co. Funny how they turned on a dime when the shoe’s on the other foot. It was painful to see the Mets win that World Series, being that the Yankees were still not the team in town.
