"i dunno its pretty sad to poke fun of photos of somebody"

Pete doesn't take legit criticism well either. I hate nomaas yet time after time they show Petes posts to be complete nonsense. They back it with stats, Pete barely knows what a stat is.

But of course, it wouldn't be smart to upset such a popular blogger, so I'm guessing this is one hand washing the other.

NSI, you said that you would post "links back to my blog at the bottom of my comments" left at Pete's blog. Can I ask why you were posting those links there?

i dunno its pretty sad to poke fun of photos of somebody...i'm surprised he even gave a blog of your low rank the time of day, as it sounds like it was undeserved

i've personally exchanged e-mails with pete (not even regarding baseball, i was inquiring if his staff was hiring any IT workers (hey, why not?)) and he was very pleasant...the trick here is, if you treat someone with respect and dignity, you get it back

Abraham pretends to take criticism in stride, but that can't be farther from the truth. If you ever email him with a dissenting opinion, he will berate you.

I have never been anonymous when displaying my dislike for the man, and I would tell him in person as well.

Before we changed the tone a bit, my blog, New Stadium Insider, often poked fun at the horrible photos he posted of himself for the entire world to see. Then he laughably threatened legal action so we gave him a break.

Before the comments of his blog were overrun by a gaggle of Peter's secret admirers, I was a regular. Unfortunately, Peter took offense to my posting of links back to my blog at the bottom of my comments. Perhaps he was insecure that my "Stadium Insider" blog title somehow infringed upon his storied place in the Yankee blogosphere? How else can one explain him belittling the name of my blog in various email correspondence regarding the posting of links in his comments section?

These days, Abraham and I steer clear of each other. He clearly still reads New Stadium Insider, as people regularly tell me when he steals ideas from our blog for his posts. Linking to other blogs is one thing, blatantly stealing story ideas from fan blogs and posting them as original ideas is another.

In closing, Peter Abraham deserves to be appreciated as pretty much the first beat-blogger. For changing the landscape of sports journalism, I truly commend him. The information he shares with Yankee fans daily is truly a service. That being said, he is a phony, and a generally unlikeable human being.

Thanks for the interview, Steve. Pete Abe seems to be a pretty cool guy. I check his blog on occasion, but time constraints prevent me from doing so more than I do.

I'm a big fan of Pete's blog, mostly because he's usually first on the scene with breaking news and team/player comments.

I'd guess a blog like the lohud one would be attractive to a lot of beat writers because it gives them the opportunity to stretch their columnist legs a little bit. Pete's usually got some good insight, so in his case, that's a good thing.
