one might wonder why i picked mike gallego…here’s why:

      1) i’ve only known him, tony fernandez, randy velarde and jeter at SS in my lifetime

      2) he was there when i first started watching, and when i was young i was a big fan of the big mike little mike thing (with stanley) dunno why, i was young lol

I always loved me some Randy Velarde.

I remember being very upset when I heard Velarde tested positive for PEDs back in the day. I believe he was an Athletic at the time.

I think Munson would win the catchers by a landslide…Yogi being close second

This happened, I’m sure. I’ve just never much cared about that stuff. Taking PEDs may be cheating, but cheating has a long and illustrious history in MLB.

So, in short, I still love me some Randy Velarde.

On another note, I feel kind of bad for poor Spike Owen, down there with nary a single vote. I always had a soft spot for him, too, though I can’t really say why. It might just be on account of his name. He just sounds like a baseball player, right?

How can Munson win by a landslide AND there still be a close second. It doesn’t make sense.
