Who cares what Zumaya says. After taking the past 2 seasons off, he barely registers in the game. But if it makes him feel any better, he won't ever be on the Yanks since his career will be close to done before free agency hits.

The Evil Empire? It's funny how great the so-called Empire shoves bushel loads of filthy lucre in someone's bloody face!It was so old school to hate the other team, so I'm used to it.I also call it the Damon syndrome...remember how he wouldn't go to the Yankees? Caveman became Mr GQ overnight when the money talked! No surprise there.

Ken, it's a function of the big bad Yankees winning all the time and them spending so much money. It's a case of envy to a certain degree. Yeah, the Yankees are seen as the Establishment and the other teams as the rebels. I've always analogized the Yanks as the US of A and the rest of the teams as the rest of the world. So many people and other nations envy the US and even secretly admire us BUT it is chicer to trash the US than otherwise. I see the Red Sox as France(quite a befitting example for Bostonians who are the Parisians of America, that is not a compliment). The Yankees are still somewhat the biggest baddest wolf around even though the Red Sox have become more of a target in the last 5 years.

Its funny, Jose Molina thought the same way until he got traded to NY. I know that a lot of fans hate the Yankees because of their piggy bank, but I wonder what the actual players have against the team?
