2005-2012 In Perpetuity by WasWatching.com

As I said yesterday, I’m so sick and tired of this dog-crap weather during our homestands. WTF?! I’m supposed to go to the game tonight but I have a funny feeling my first visit is going to get pushed back.
It’s just as well, for the first time in a long time, I just don’t feel like watching the Yanks. The empty seats, bad weather and mediocre play has left me feeling very sour lately. The only thing that could cheer me up is if someone kicked Papelbon in the nuts a few times. The mere sight of him makes me furious.

I’m feeling that with you MJ. It’s just frustration, i’m sure one big win will snap us out of it. After all, when you live and die with your team the wins create an amazing high, and tough losses just eat you up and disgust you.

You’re probably right YankCrank. Hopefully tonight’s game is played and I get to see Joba toss a gem to lift my spirits. That and a sandwich from that deli Steve mentioned a few weeks back are my last hope.
Those empty seats remind me of my youth and going to the Stadium when they weren’t the hot ticket in town. It’s a disadvantage ,too BECAUSE the Yankees need as many riotous fans as they can get to have a home field advantage. As for the Yankees-Red Sox, yes the Red Sox have the Yankee’s number this year so far BUT there are so many games left. And the last time I checked, the season doesn’t end in June!
home field advantage

I don’t believe such a thing exists in baseball. If it does, it’s far less pronounced than in football or basketball. A stadium’s dimensions might be a homefield advantage of sorts but fans don’t make too much of an impact. The 2005 White Sox won a World Series with paltry attendance throughout the regular season…

It definitely exists in baseball.Especially in the Northeast. Ever been to Fenway Park and see how close the fans are to the field. That is intimating to opposing players. And the crazy way that the Red Sox fans act has an effect on a game where most players are used to Midwestern crowds ,who are not that intense.Philly? The Philly fans are animals(I mean that as a compliment). It gives the Phillies a boost when they are playing. In addition, the Yankee fans going nuts give the Yankees an advantage. You can’t seriously tell me that a half empty stadium fans is not a gamchanger.Even when the frontrunning people show up in the Stadium instead of the true fans, it is a depressing site. The comment regarding the White Sox? I don’t know what relevance that team has in the argument BUT the Phightin Phils have nasty, rude, passionate fans and they won the World Series last year with 1 ace(to counteract that Palehose example and I’m leaving out the 2004,2007 Red Sox)!
Butchie, I’m sorry I even bothered.
lmao
I wonder why the Phillies have only won two titles in their entire history with those crazy fans? Odd.
I suppose they weren’t nasty, rude or passionate enough?
