A couple of things.

I did hear that one of the fans from the legends section,he left, and wasn't allowed back in which is totally stupid, since a single ticket for a single game is more money then most of the other fans will spend all season long on the team.

The one defense, that is stupid, is that the Yankees hired alot of new people this year, who are new to job. This type of crap has been going on for years, these "new employees" aren't much different then the ones who have been hostile to fans for years.

Finally, why is the amount they are paid a big deal? does citifield pay a hell of lot better their people, because their folks (I've been to both stadiums this year) have been a hell of alot friendlier then the Yanks personnel.

The Yankees needs to stop treating their fans like 2nd rate riff raff, and treat them like the paying customers they are.

Good call, mate. I hope that this behavior is limited to it just being initial bugs. I really don't care about what it says on the ticket, the fans should come first. Looking at that cavernous stadium last night with empty patches looked quite terrible. Trost and Levine love the profits BUT their new palace is ultimately fuelled by the fans. Yes even the wealthy fans that are staying away from behind home plate! Treat them with respect.

Agree partially with Jake and partially with everyone else. The team is at fault, but the people are too. Go read the post on this at RAB, they have some interesting info from people who were there. One says that the people at the gate when you left were telling people that they would not be allowed back in and that the game was not yet called.

I’m not sure that I would blame the Steinbrenners for this one. More so, it’s the Stadium Operations Managers and Security Chiefs - whomever that may be.
-----
In this one isolated instance, I agree, it's not on the Steinbrenners. But given the fact that courtesy and customer service have been common complaints at Yankee Stadium for years now, I'd say that it IS on the Steinbrenners overall.

If there's a 10 year (min.) pattern of behavior, who else would it fall to but to the owners?

-------------
That's true, they're part of it, but this isn't the first time the operations crew have had complaints about something.

It wasn't too long ago that fans who sat through something like this were comped to a future Yankees game.

I'm not sure that I would blame the Steinbrenners for this one. More so, it's the Stadium Operations Managers and Security Chiefs - whomever that may be. Blaming the Steinbrenner for this would be like blaming Brian Cashman for a bat boy at the Stadium for interfering with a ball in play...

As far as the rain delay rule, agreed, it should be something like 60 minutes from the start of the game - unless it's a situation where the visiting team will not be in town again that season. In the latter case, I could see them waiting 90 minutes, if needed, from the start.

FWIW, a friend of mine was at the game on Sunday, where they made the fans wait an hour before the game was called. Yes, I know that was the Angels last day in town this season. But, we knew the rain was going to be bad that day - and the Mets game in Philly was called two hours before the Yankees game.

My friend? She said they ended up spending $100 on food and drinks while they waited out the delay before the game was called. Think about that - if there were 40,000 people there and one out of every four ended up spending $100.....that's one million dollars in revenue for a game that was never played. And, that doesn't include parking which is not refunded. Man, that's just not right.....

This is horrendous. This is something that should shame the Steinbrenner family tremendously. If you can't provide good customer service, you shouldn't be in business period.

Separately, I agree with the first comment. There should be an appropriate time limit for rain delays. This affects all fans in all cities. I don't know what an appropriate solution is -- 90 minutes? 2 hours? -- but Bud Selig (douche that he is) should get to work on this.

Strange. I would bet that the Yankees try and write this stuff off as being the bugs of opening up a new Stadium.
----------
They could try, but you know and I know that it would be bs.

Why? Why are the Yankees and other sports teams continuely treating their fans like garbage? These are the people that make it all happen, not the coporate sponsors or the club seat buyers. This is embarrising since it was a game that should have been cancelled MLB needs to set a time limit for delays. Not letting people back in after a 2 hour rain delay in sad expecially when most tickets are over $50.
