First, I said George wouldn’t tolerate a Cody or Pena.. Please show me again where i said I can go out and get someone?.. Are you reading my posts here?..Not sure who was available after spring training but I am sure some other player who just has a bit more defensive skills and pop in his bat would have been an upgrade.. Wouldn’t you at least agree to this?.. Or better yet.. how about Nady at third?.. Played his college career there.. tell me you think that’s an upgrade to Cody and Pena?.. But I am sure you’ll find something to disagree with Nady at third?… When I get 3 million a year and make the decisions I would gladly tell you how I would have handled it..

Melancon has been touted as the in-house replacement for Rivera. Before that, it was JB Cox. Teams don’t plan that far in advance for the heir apparent to a thus-far ageless closer. It doesn’t work that way.

As far as replacement for Bernie, his name is Austin Jackson and he’s currently in AAA. As to what he’ll amount to in the big leagues, I have no idea. But between Bernie and Jackson, we’ve had Johnny Damon and the Cabrera/Gardner platoon. It hasn’t been as bad as you make it seem. After all, replacing a borderline Hall of Famer isn’t as easy as you’re making it out to be.

I agree what your saying.. As usual team Cashman fell asleep at the Wheel like Bernie Williams and soon Derek Jeter replacement.. But to say you can pick up a closer to fill those shoes on the biggest stage in the world.. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS… Joba is the guy.. When people stop and think about this, who really has been the MVP for the Yankees over the last 13 years?>. Hmmm does Mo come to mind?>.. Thats what we could have with Joba!!… Again..
