It was great that that took the last 6 games BUT on a more cynical note, they ecked out the last 5 games. On the one hand ,it shows that they are potentially good in tight games. On the other hand, how many walkoffs/tight games can you win? The thing with this team that if the starting pitching holds up, they'll be fine. As I've said before, if 2 of the 5 are injured, they'll just be OK but not good enough to make it to the playoffs. God forbid if Mo gets injured, but Bruney is coming back so things look better on the bullpen front regardless of what happens.

Just a side note about last night's game, did anybody notice how impressive that Yankee defense was with Cervelli behind the plate and Pena at 3b? Both made huge plays, Cervelli's throw out at 2b and Pena's barehand, off-balanced throw, and Tex made an impressive play off Cano's throw in the 1st. Not used to seeing such slick fielding from this team, it was fun.

<b>How sweet would it be if they win five of their next six and string this run out to be 13 wins out of 16 games?</b>

Oh, it'd be very sweet. The team is slowly but surely rounding itself into shape.

I agree Hughes hasnt looked great, but if he can keep them under 5 runs like he did last game, we have a great shot at winning. And with the way we're playing right now...i'm okay with a little greed. Especially since the Toronto Halladay's arent going anywhere just yet.

Yanks have now won eight of their last ten. And, they play their next six games at the Stadium. How sweet would it be if they win five of their next six and string this run out to be 13 wins out of 16 games? Or, is that just getting greedy?
-------
But don't forget, the Yanks could've easily lost all those games too. After all, we discount wins around here. ;-)

Being serious, however, I think we should expect to beat the O's and Phils 2/3 each. Pettitte hasn't looked great of late and Hughes has looked...cough...horrible so I'd assume those two games are probably the tough ones to win.

I'm just taking it one series at a time. It would be great if the Yankees could sweep the O's---the "if" is Hughes---while the Jays and Saux are squaring off. They would gain ground on at least one of the two teams ahead of them, and maybe both.

Sweepin Baltimore and taking 2 of 3 from the Phils is not outlandish, but 4 of 6 is more realistic.

After all, no other team folds up at Yankee Stadium (old or new) like the Twins.
(An unfair shot; the Twins fought hard in all 4 games, and with better luck could have taken any one or all four.)

Lol, I was thinking the same thing, and I think we are being greedy. I just want them to take both series.
