handtius, Wang's "major injury" was a 34.50 ERA. I don't doubt there was a problem with his hip to a degree, but I think if you went over any athlete or human being you could come up with some problem or another. Wang's injury was an excuse to get him down to Tampa and some rehab starts to see if they could fix him mechanically. Now I hope he's not finished, but I'm very skeptical right now.

The Yanks have to face Hamels Sunday night, it's true.

But correct me if I'm wrong; don't the Phils have to face CC Sabathia in that game?

Well lookit, AJ pitched a bad game. Left some FB right down the middle, and the Phillies good hitters belted them.

The real disaster was the two-run HR to Ruiz in the 2nd. It barely got out, but it counts, and with the way the park is playing, you have to take the good with the bad. But serious, Burnett's stuff is good enough that guys like Ruiz, nice player that he is, shouldn't be taking him out of the park, and going 3-3.

It's true AJ set a career high in wins last season, but he was actually a pretty good starter for the Jays the last four seasons when he's been healthy.

I expect him to get on roll at some point to team up with Sabathia. I could be wrong. We'll see.

Myers is not really that good, either but he's streaky. He started the season poorly, but was pitching better of late before last night, giving up only 3 ER in 13 innings in his last two starts to the Braves and Nationals, K'ing 13 and BB'ing only 2. I thought the Yanks were going to get 2-3 HRs off him and they did, but I was hoping they wouldn't be bases empty shots after the horse was stolen.
==================================
Andy's start today will be a hold your breath affair. Yanks have to hit A.J. Happ, a rookie lefty they havn't seen, not their best thing. Could go any which way.
=================================
True story:

I was at the game last night, and after the bottom of the 6th, I went to the men's room, as I was able to hear a comment one guy was saying to another: "...and that's another meaningless HR for A-Rod".

I wonder if he said that about Jeter's HR in the 8th, or Tex's HR 2 batters later?

<b>@ JeremyM</b>:
Wow, you really think Wang is finished after 3 inning as and giving up 2 runs? That's worse then what's written above.

The dude just came of a major injury! Give him some time.

Not a good loss and man Burnett is shaping up worse than I feared (never liked the signing but figured he'd be decent), but this is one negative post. Then again, seeing that Wang is probably finished is enough to put anyone in a bad mood.

jeeze, got sour quick in here. baltimore is a very good hitting team. we won those games because we pitched well. same with the twins series..pitching won then and pitching won tonight. don't jump off the bridge so fast. It will be alright. we can't win every single game. it's impossible in a world were anything is possible.
