Anyone see Gino pop Melky’s shoulder back in on the field? They are saying it’s a strained shoulder and that preliminary x-rays show no further damage, but he will undergo a MRI today.

He did not look very sharp at all. Could not throw his fastball for strikes and was leaving the changeup up. Not a good combo.

Actually, they would’ve lost 5 out of 5 if not for a Lidge super-meltdown and if not for scoring 11 runs on Monday. I’m sorry, but I just don’t get the “if not for….” analysis. The Yanks rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th-yes, it was against a struggling closer-but they rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th. That win counts, no ifs, ands, or buts.

I’m not happy about losing last night, but they are a game out of first and a half game up in the Wild Card. If not for a Mariano super-meltdown against Boston they’d be tied for first……
