WasWatching.com Water Cooler Talk 6/3/09 Q&A With The Star-Ledger’s Marc Carig
Jun 03

Well, this one ended up being a lot closer than it appeared it might be…back in the second inning. In the end, a 4-2 loss…very close.

Is this what the Yankees offense looks like without a white (not red, it’s more than red) hot Mark Teixiera?

A-Rod had his chances in this one. Down by two, bottom of the third, bases loaded, one out, and a 3-1 count…and Rodriguez rolls into a 5-5-3 DP to end the frame. Down by two, bottom of the sixth, runner on third, one out, and Rodriguez whiffs on five pitches. If Alex comes through in either of those spots, even with just a productive out, it’s a whole different ballgame…but, no-go, amigo.

Thanks for coming…see ya tomorrow afternoon.

Yeah, this team has turned into Teixeira’s team, not A-Rod’s.

Frustrating loss, but the early game today gives us a chance to move past it pretty quickly. I’m excited to see Wang start again

just awful by a-rod. awful. it’s unbelievable how predictable he is depending on how he’s going. 2 weeks ago, you know he’s getting it done in that spot(s). last night, you knew he wasn’t. other guys do it sometimes, not in others, and it evens itself out in the end. he does it everytime for three weeks, then never does it for three weeks, and it evens itself out in the end. same result, but man, is his way more frustrating. such a talented player looking so clueless.
