Nobody is perfect. He’s been pitching pretty damn good till this one and he stil managed to go 8. He’s gone 5 starts without giving up more then 3 runs. He is aloud to have a bad night once in a while.

I agree with the responses here: regular season record against these teams don’t really matter (so long as you get into the playoffs). What bothers me most about yesterday’s game is CC not getting big outs and not holding leads. That is exactly what he is paid to do.

Honestly, regular season performance means absolutely nothing. Evidence:

2007 Angels beat the Sox in every single game except the first one. 1-8. Sox couldn’t buy a win against the Angels. Then they creamed them in the postseason.

2006 Yankees swept the season series against the Tigers. I don’t have to tell you what went on there.

The only reason to fret about dropping games to the Rays or Sox is how much tougher it makes winning the division or wildcard. And that’s it.
