I have to admit, I like the composition of this pic

Anyone going to the HoF classic next weekend?
@ Raf:
I think that photo represents how alot of us felt after last night.
Some random thoughts on NY vs Boston:
They’ve beaten us in almost every way possible. slugfests, pitchers duels, late inning comebacks, battle of the bullpens. They’ve beaten our “ace” while NY cannot score a single run against their #5 starter. They’ve beaten our closer.
Beckett, when healthy, is almost unhittable. NY didn’t even come close to sniffing a run against him. We’ve seen this before.
Lester is better than any NY prospect and will probabley have a .750 winning % against NY for the next 10 years (based on the Yankees’ historic trouble against even marginal lefties…I remember Gura, Splitorff, Flanagan, McGregor, et al)
Hughes? Joba? They MIGHT have decent pro careers, but I’m not holding my breath.
Boston has several batters who are really tough outs. They take and foul off many pitches. If they don’t hit or walk, at the very least they wear down the pitcher.
Their 3rd baseman seems to hurt us more than ours hurts them, despite the shocking double from ARod last night.
Don’t be too quick to write Ortiz’s obituary; we thought Giambi was done but he recovered to be a 30+ HR guy. And even if done against the rest of the AL, Ortiz will come to life against Yankee pitching.
Boston’s core players (Pedroia, Youk, Pap, Beckett, Lester, Bay) are in their prime, or close to it. The same cannot be said for NY.
There is no comparison be/tw the bullpens. I agree with Steve that this falls on Cashman. It’s the same virtually every year. Thank God for Mo but how long can will his dominance last? Has it already faded?
The only major obstacle for Boston is injuries. If they lose Beckett or Lester, and, say, Varitek or Youk, then NY has a chance. Otherwise the Sox will be playing deep into October.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but right now, the Sox are a better team. They pitch well, they grind out at bats, and find ways to win. They’ve re-made their team “on the fly” and inserted productive players like Bay and Drew who fit their system. They didn’t hold on to aging stars of yesteryear like Pedro, Nomar, Mueller, Millar, Nixon.
They have a better GM, manager, and team composition. And a much better stadium, which is a travesty.
The sting of 0-8 is real and true. However….it’s a long season and things may change. No white flag yet.

Now is not the time to go all Ansel Adams on us, Raf! Nice picture, though….we could have used something more triumphal at this point BUT hey it’s all good.
@nwyank Agreed on all points. Nuff said.
