I’ve learned more about baseball in the last 3.5 years than I learned in the first 20 years that I watched the game. Lee, Steve, and the rest of the internet has taught me a whole lot.

And, yep, I’ve “met” a ton of great people while I was at it too!

Maybe it wasn’t google, but I do remember something whether it was a message board or a blog of some sort that was in between NetShrine v2.0 and WasWatching. Maybe it was yahoo or google, I don’t remember… I know it didn’t last too long.

Google based blog? I don’t think that was me? At least I don’t remember it.

3.5 years? Time flies when you’re having fun

I followed Steve from NetShrine, I don’t think I started posting here until a couple of months after the blog started. I do seem to remember a google based blog that Steve started that didn’t last too long, IIRC.

I don’t remember how I found NetShrine, I think it was through Lee’s work, which I think I discovered @ some usenet group back in the day…

Yeah, Corey, that’s a bummer. It was a good story. Probably can be found at some hardcopy archive of Newsday circa 10/6-7/2005.

I gotta say, that post really puts into focus how long Raf and I have been around this blog. That’s 3.5 years ago and I think we’re the only two left. I’m glad we’ve picked up other good folks along the way (Corey, YankCrank, GI Joey…)

Actually, interacting with the beat writers is one of the biggest thrills I’ve gotten out of doing this blog. (As a kid, once I realized that I was not going to play pro-baseball, my dream was to be a beat writer for the Yankees. So, the fact that these guys know me and I know them, now, is somewhat a dream come true.)
