Haha, i’m a big believer in the reverse whammy. Maybe it’ll come out tonight?

i saw redding do that last night. His line would have looked even better if Manuel knew how to manage and took redding out with the top of the order comin up. I called that last homer the bottom half of the previous inning.

For the record, I’m not saying that Wang sucks as a pitcher. I’m just saying that even a pitcher who sucks can throw a good game, once in a while, by luck. So, if they can do it, there’s no reason – as bad as things have been for Wang this year – that he can’t, at some point, post a good one.

I’m not willing to write off Wang’s career just yet — we’ve seen plenty of pitchers have a horrible year and then bounce back the next — but I’m writing off 2009 for Wang. He looks completely lost out there and, yes, I’m even including his last start vs. Washington. I fully expect him to get bombed tonight.

I haven’t felt this negative about the Yanks since the early part of the 2005 season or the immediate aftermath of the 2006 season.

You know, it’s funny. When Wang had that start up in Fenway, he was going so bad up to that point, and never pitched well in Fenway before, I thought to myself “Just watch, now, he’ll do the impossible and pitch a no-hitter.” And, I was really thinking he was reverse whammy his way into a no-no….well, that was until he gave up his first hit.

I think that’s the way you have to go with Wang now. Just hope that he’s going to do well – because eventually, even a pitcher who sucks will throw a good game – and keep hoping that until we know for sure, that day, that it’s too late for him to do well (based on his pitching performance that day).

I know, sounds crazy. But, what else did you expect from me?
