Just found this thread late, but i’m guessing Cash and Joe were getting an early talk on what playing time may be like when Nady comes back. It could have very well been a preemptive-strike way of saying, “Hey, Nady is back in a week and you’re going to be sharing playing time again. We’d like to tell you now so you’re not caught-off-guard, surprised or upset. Keep playing hard and you’ll keep playing.”

Maybe so but it’s just not fun anymore. I have better things to do with my 3 hours than watch a team playing this badly. It’s unbearable to watch and it ruins my mood.

Maybe Cashman wanted to tell Angel Berroa personally to get out of the clubhouse and never to return. Assuming Berroa is the one who will get DFA’d for Ransom.

also, i’m not saying cashman is in town for just that, im sayin the swisher thing might be a coincidence cause hes there. Cash might also be letting him know Nady is starting in right tonight, and that he better get it going if he wants to play.

Based on my experience of hearing about these types of things, it’s pretty rare for a G.M. to show up in the middle of a road trip, period, much less in the middle of a series in the middle of a road trip. Something is up. And, I don’t think it was a matter of Swisher being benched and then Cashman coming to his rescue, etc. That could have been taken care of with a phone call.

Or it could be that Melky was traded, or it could be that Cashman forced Girardi to play Swisher…

Maybe Cashman flew into ATL to voice his approval of the job Girardi’s doing?

I don’t see Swisher complaining, he has been getting regular playing time.
