FWIW, I have been very impressed with Swisher’s ability to SAC bunt this season. Granted, I want to kill him when he does it early in a game, when batting behind Jeter. But, I’ve seen him do it more than once, late in a game, in a key spot, and do it well.

Swisher’s bases loaded at bat sucked, but he redeemed himself when he laid down that sick bunt where he reached and moved Gardner over to third, which became the go-ahead run.

Holy crap, I went to bed after Mo got the save and didn’t even know the Sox blew it. Today just got so much better!!

Last night was extremely infuriating, especially Swisher’s bases loaded at bat, but we did prevail. Let’s beat ‘em up tonight.

You all have seen Girardi manage for 2 yrs now. What makes you think he’d ever do something smart like letting a guy who threw 9 pitches and dominated go another inning or at least til he got into trouble?

Bruney’s collapse aside, anyone else as impressed with Alex’s HR as I was? The location of that pitch had me thinking pop-up as soon as he swung the bat, but he really kept his hands in and muscled it out. Hopefully this is the start of a nice summer for A-Rod.

completely agree. there is no reason why Phil Hughes couldnt start the 8th inning, or why Brian Bruney absolutely had to be brought in, either.

Tonight’s game was frustrating at times but at least the team prevailed.

I don’t care for how they’re using Hughes in the bullpen. The kid is a starter, don’t use him as a short man. Let him come back out for the 8th instead and if he gets in trouble, then you can bail him out with Bruney/Rivera. He’s too lights out right now to only dispense in 3-out increments.
