Ummm, despite the presence of Lind(who also plays outfield) the Blue Jays would pick him up in a second. The BLuebirds are looking for a left handed bat with some pop.The Rays have Burrell, BUT Matsui could be used as a bat off the bench. Would Sabean of the Giants be stupid enough to trade for him for some offense even though Matsui is a DH now. God knows they need some offense!@ Yagotta, I agree with you in the end though. He is a good pinch hitter and can be used effectively in this position. What does Kim Jones know anyway? She’s an Orioles fan!

How does this improve the roster? He is better than any other options they have at DH. Even if you want to use the DH to rotate other players through that slot, he is the best pinch hitter on the club. I’m not sure why you would want to release him. The Yankees have a number of outfielders that can play a number of positions, so they can afford to carry one pure DH. Of course, after the season he is gone.

I love Godzilla but it’s been ages since he provided value to the ballclub. Ever since he broke his wrist making that sliding catch in 2006, he hasn’t been the same. It’s sad but if he’s gotta go, I can live with that.
