I don’t recall seeing any YES or My9 shots of Jeter’s parents in the stands, at the new Yankee Stadium, this season. Anyone see them?

come to think of it, your right…I actually recall Ken Singleton mentioning something about how when he was young his parents used to come to every game, then slowly it transitioned to watching every game on tv and rarely coming to the park (i don’t remember who they were originally talking about, but i recall Cone making a shout out to the mother of the player who was watching on tv while the father was in the stands, and that sparked singleton…i do recall it being a pitcher). so maybe its just a case of that?

Maybe Jete bought them a luxury suite and they don’t sit in the stands anymore?

I actually do remember seeing them once this year. Don’t ask me which game, but I’m pretty sure I saw them at one of the earlier games this year.

I’m sure we are- so are 29 other teams. It could be a crazy bidding war, but he probably will not have the proper documentation for about 9 months to a year.

its hard to not be interested in someone who has thrown 102 mph in the past, and a lefty at that, if all it costs is money i say why not

“There also might be a question of Chapman’s maturity level. Several times at the WBC, Chapman was demonstrative in his displeasure at the umpire’s strike zone. At times, several of his teammates had to go to the mound to calm him.”

      Pass.

I remember seeing this, and thinking this kid had a million dollar arm and a ten cent head. I guess we’ll see what happens…

Hey Steve, am I seeing things or did you just put up a post about d-bag Lucchino then take it down? I want to get my comment on about his remarks :)

You’d pass on the chance to acquire talent because he might be immature? Reggie freakin’ Jackson was immature.

MJ – Reggie was not immature. David Wells, maybe, but, not Reggie. (And, I’m not a Reggie fan. That said, this kid doesn’t sound like he would last in New York. Contreras, for that matter, could not handle it.

YankCrank – LOL – you did see that. I had to take it down two minutes after posting it – as I realized I had an error in the reported revenue comment and did not have the time to research/correct it.

A showboating, preening, selfish guy like Reggie wasn’t immature? Our definition of the word differs.

If Reggie were immature, he would have begged to get out of town in 1978 when Martin was on him, no?

      @ Steve Lombardi:
Contreras had one good year and one bad year pitching for the Yanks. Hardly an indicator of being unable to pitch in NY.

I would say pitching for the Cuban National team, and the process of defecting from Cuba is much more stressful than pitching for the Yankees.

The Fenway incident as well as the bunt incident could be interpreted as signs of immaturity.

      I don’t have a dog in this fight, I’m just sayin’ :)
