Steve, I remember the day that Munson died so vividly…damn have that many years passed? He was a really unique player even on a team of truly unique guys. It was a pleasure to have seen him play firsthand and I’m looking forward to reading this book. Thanks for the heads up………

Great review, Steve. I can’t wait to read the book.

One of my clearest memories of Thurman is a funny one…He frequently spit in his batting helmet, then smushed it into his head. I can see him doing it like it was yesterday.

Thurman was the first Yankee Captain since Gerhig. Throrouhly fitting.
