how about montero goin deep 5 times in the last 4 games? Dude is eating up AA
and am i the only sucker working today? anyone else? buhler?
We talked about the new stadium helping to “hide” Jeter’s decline, has anyone noticed how it has helped Damon turn in an All-Star quality first half? My God, the guy has got an OPS over 1.000 at home, totally out of whack with any other season.
So, is there a chance here that Damon will get his wish and sign another contract with NY, on the basis that he seems to be having a big bounce-back year? Certainly he’s got the stroke to take advantage of the park – but can it be rational, at his age, to sign him again? Then again, what if the best offer he gets is only one year, and Cashman uses the Steins checkbook to make it the best one year offer? One year wouldn’t be that risky.

The guy who the Flock of Seagulls wrote a song about? J/K
@ Steve Lombardi:
Thanks but it doesn’t take into account the fact that Damon’s great year is a creation of the new Stadium – does his home/road splits complicate the decision of whether to bring him back? For that matter, what if they bring him back but also take action to make it tougher to homer to right field?

lol pretty bad
Don’t feel too bad, Corey. I’m working today AND tomorrow.
Save some barbecue.
@ Corey:
I’m working today too.
good to see i have people to converse with lol…commenting at RAB makes me want to hurl (no offense to yougottagotomo, but the other dudes just annoy the crap out of me)
Hey Corey, no offense taken. Didn’t mean to get all confrontational, just that most of my friends who have been to both places have told me the same things- the price difference isn’t huge, but the Mets have more options.
@ yagottagotomo1:
lol im not mad at u the other dude was pissing me off..whozat or something like that. The part where he said A) who read’s Waswatching anywy? to be namely. It’s just like whats the difference? What does saying something like that add to the conversation? I’d much much much rather come here and discuss my favorite team with a group of adults (you included) rather then a group of children. I’ll continue to read RAB,tho, cause those guys are top notch.
and it saddens me to call them a group of children, cause i’d be willing to bet im at least the same age as them, if not younger
Just a little PSA.
I’ll have a review up soon on the new Munson book. Be sure to be looking for it!
time to bury the jays

pretty sad, but it could turn out good for the rangers if they get a new owner in the long run

Weird, because Tom Hicks controls a pretty powerful private equity fund called Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst (I worked with them back in 2003), and owns the Dallas Stars and an English Premier League soccer team (forgot which one). He’s got money, he’s just not willing to re-allocate assets.
In any event, it’s not the worst thing in the world if Hicks has to sell the Rangers. MLB doesn’t need deadbeat owners. There are plenty of rich people in Dallas that can afford to take over (Jerry Jones and Mark Cuban, for instance).
great win even tho i didnt see it cause im at work…burnett against everyone not named red sox : 7-3 3.09 ERA
