Weird, because Tom Hicks controls a pretty powerful private equity fund called Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst (I worked with them back in 2003), and owns the Dallas Stars and an English Premier League soccer team (forgot which one). He’s got money, he’s just not willing to re-allocate assets.

In any event, it’s not the worst thing in the world if Hicks has to sell the Rangers. MLB doesn’t need deadbeat owners. There are plenty of rich people in Dallas that can afford to take over (Jerry Jones and Mark Cuban, for instance).

Hey Corey, no offense taken. Didn’t mean to get all confrontational, just that most of my friends who have been to both places have told me the same things- the price difference isn’t huge, but the Mets have more options.
