I know I get worried about possibly facing LAA in the postseason this year, but the fact is Texas could win that division. With the Wild Card coming from the East, LAA may be taking a seat this year.

I don't even think that the Angels are that "good". Sure, they have a way of always beating the Yankees, but they are not an elite team this year.

I wouldn't be shocked to see a little correction in the Sox record as the year progresses either.

Any way you slice it, beating the first place Tigers when facing their two best pitchers (who did pitch well, by the way) is quite a nice accomplishment.

So this sweep, and a 5-1 record vs. a 1st place team "doesn't count", either? Beating Verlander and Jackson back-to-back "doesn't count"? Would it count if I pointed out that's only the 2nd time this season that's happened? (St. Louis, back in June) No? That the Yanks are now 28-25 vs. teams that are .500 or better (once the Braves finish off this win over the Mets, that is). No?

Yet another proof that your widely cited study proves only that the Yanks have a horrible record against the Red Sox and Angels this year exactly because they've lost a lot of games to the Red Sox and Angels this year.
