Thanks for the links Steve..I turned my class into true believers. With The Sux and Rays off tonight we have great opp. to go up a half game. We have a good shot with Tubby pants on the mound.

It would be great to see the Yanks gain an extra 0.5 in the standings with a win tonight.

The A’s offense has actually been blasting the ball recently (uncharacteristically so) so I hope CC’s on his game tonight.

With all the talk about Lee, and Halladay, what do you guys think about Washburn. I..and RAB for that matter…think he could be a very decent 5th starter.

      @ clintfsu813:
Since they are still technically in contention, you’d have to give up a bit for him as the mariners are counting their blessings that they didn’t trade him last year. If you’re giving up anything good, the way i see it might as well go all in and get the good doctor.

      @ Corey:
No way Wash demands the kind of prospects Doc does.

Plus he becomes FA at end of season..now’s the time to dump him

      @ clintfsu813: No sweat. You’re welcome.

Hey, has anyone figured out what E.B.L. is yet?

i’m not saying he would, but if you have to give up ANYTHING good, AND have to pay him to keep him…why not go for the gold vs. the fool’s gold?

I just think there would be a huge difference on what it would take for each guy. I could stomach 1 top prospect and a decent size contract for Lee. I think for Doc it would be 2 top prospects, 1 decent prospect and about 6-8 years for him. Or am I undervaluing Lee?

I was misinformed earlier. Tampa is in fact currently playing and are down 4-0 to Chicago.

      @ clintfsu813:
i would say over-valuing…Lee i feel like has the potential to be a lefty pavano/wright next gen

If anyone’s curious, Buehrle is currently throwing a no hitter against tampa through 6

      July 23rd, 2009 | 3:39 pm

      Make that through 7

      Well, he’s done it before…in 2007

Buehrle tossed a perfect game. Funny how that’s his second career no-hitter and the freakin’ Mets still can’t get one as a franchise in nearly 50 years.

Pretty cool, right? I have a buddy in Chicago who told me that his 80-year old colleague at work took his grandson to today’s game. Imagine how cool that is to go to a ballgame with your grandpa and get the 18th perfect game in MLB history. Awesome!
