damon is in some slump huh? in his last 21 games he’s fashioned the following slash lines: .216/.348/.378 in 89 PA
and how about buehrle? first 17 hitters retired is pretty good coming off a perfect game

That’s OK. The Yankees still have Melky and Swisher in their OF and their bats can carry Damon…oh…wait a minute……..

The days of Ruth, DiMaggio, Mantle, Maris, Reggie, Winfield and Bernie seem like ages ago, huh? The Yanks OF is pretty shabby…
With the Mariners on sell mode, I think that they should look at more than just Washburn.
The Mariners are reportedly really trying to trade Jeff Clement. How about Jarrod Washburn and Jeff Clement for a decent prospect?

I’m ok with that, only because we have a total beast of an infield. Damon is in a slump but putting together a good year, Swish is hitting 8th and providing us with 16 HR and 53 RBIs and the platoon of Melky/Gardner has been played beautifully by Girardi. Ruth and Mantle they are not, but still good enough to have us in first place after 100 games.

It alarms me if Seattle would be willing to trade Jeff Clement. What does that say about their former top prospect if they’re giving up on him already? He’s defensively challenged and the Yanks don’t need another DH.
I’d only take him as part of a three-team trade or if we punt him immediately.
i dunno, even tho Washburn is having a good season…somethin about him makes me say pass, can’t put my finger on it
