• Garza: Plunking Tex No Coinkydink

    Via Marc Topkin:

Tampa Bay Rays RHP Matt Garza acknowledged it was more than coincidence than he hit Mark Teixeira the inning after Yankees starter Joba Chamberlain threw a pitch at the head of Evan Longoria, and noted the Yankees threw inside to Longoria and hit him Monday too.

“I just kind of got tired of people brushing him back,’’ Garza said. “It’s about time someone made a statement. They did it on Monday night and we didn’t do anything, they didn’t do it too much (Tuesday) and (Chamberlain) did it again tonight.

“I hate to be that guy, but someone had to take a stand and say, “You know, we’re tired of it.” You can go after our best guy, well, we’ll make some noise too, and that’s what happened.’’

Paging Mr. Watson, paging Bob Watson…

      HAHAHAHAHAHA!

      @ Corey:
I agree, he better get suspended. Unfortunately I have no faith in Mr. Bitter, aka Bob Watson.

      …and not a piddling 6-game suspension, either.

This is an admission he hit Teixiera deliberately. That calls for an 11- to 21-game suspension.

He won’t get it, of course, because he’s not a Yankee.

he shouldnt be suspended its part of the game…. he was protecting his teammate… go back 20 yrs and this isnt a big deal… its so annoying how the game has changed in the past 20 yrs… so what he if he said he hit him on purpose?

I think people mainly want it done because of what happened to AJ earlier in the year. If our man AJ can be suspended, we would obviously want fair treatment against Pube Face.
