Excuse me, but there was testing throughout the time period that he was great. Testing didn’t come into existence immediately prior to his becoming “less than ordinary”.

Before I hang the guy out to dry, I need a little more than a single test in 2003, when everybody here knows that there were supplements and protein shakes and any number of things that would cause a positive test. Furthermore, in 2003, coming out of the famously “loosey-goosey time”, no one thought anything about supplements and protein shakes. Its only since then that the union has made an effort (not much, hello J.C. Romero and Mr. Mitre) to inform players about risky supplements.

In short, to me, it is completely plausible that he used a supplement that caused a positive result, and its obvious from Ortiz’ comment that is what his explanation will be.

Put the needle in Presinal’s hand. Send out an investigative reporter or two to prove that Ortiz used, knowingly so. Then I’ll hang the guy out to dry.

But CHB is a fool.

I’ve always liked Dan Shaughnessy’s honesty/bluntness. He never comes across as a homer in his interviews unlike some others that cover the so-called Nation. Funny how he even mentioned Mitchell, the lack of Red Sox presence on the Mitchell Report ,and the conflict of interest you have to be a complete idiot or Red Pox homer to not see what went on with Mitchell and his report.

@ Justin, mate are you being comical? Big Flappi Ortiz is a special case because he seemed so anti-steroids meanwhile he was a cheater. A class A hypocrite if there ever was . Yes, Aroid is too a liar and a hypocrite as well.
