From Pete Abe, here is the rotation against BOS:
Chamberlain, Burnett, Sabathia, Pettitte.
Looks good. No 5th starter slot and no pressure on Joba if he pitches after a loss (or losses) in the series.
So they use the off-day Monday to get Mitre out of there, that makes sense.
But what are Joba’s results on 8 days rest?
It will be interesting to see if this works out or if Girardi is being too clever in a bid to avoid using Mitre when his team is trying to log the first win against Boston. My guess is that Boston is extra patient to see if being overly rested means being overly strong and overly wild. He’s been pitching great, can he keep it up with twice as much rest, in front of the home crowd, with an 0-8 team mark against Boston?
One other thing – Youkilis better stay loose up there.
Well, I think there is definite concern about the way this team plays against contenders now. This is ridiculous.
Note to Brian Cashman: Please DFA Cody Ransom ASAP. Thanks.
Losing happens but this team has looked completely lost out there. Bad fielding. Errors. Throwing to the wrong base. And the manager making questionable moves and non-moves. Is this the normal ebb and flow of the season or is something more serious going on here?

Gotta think this lack of focus is a serious bad sign…

I am generally an optimist and until this series with the White Sox I wasn’t too worried. Now I am.
With the losing streak at three we are now looking at Berhle tomorrow, Halladay Tues and four against BOS starting Thurs. This week will tell us alot about the make up of this team.
